Drug and Alcohol

Rehabilitation

Most people have come into their Drug and Alcohol use at a young age. An age where they cannot possibly know the life-long impact of what Drug and Alcohol use will extract. It is a fact that even the smallest amount of Drug and Alcohol use can impair the mental development of children and hinder their ability to make clear choices.

Children see Drug and Alcohol use in their home environment on a regular basis. Especially Alcohol, which most people don't even consider a Drug. In fact, most addictive substances children are introduced to are not seen as Drugs, such as cigarettes and medications. Substances which many children see used their home, neighborhood and social environment not to mention in many television and movies that they watch on a regular basis. In short, Drug and Alcohol use is seen as a normal part of their lives and development.

With them being told that ONLY those people who can't handle Drugs and Alcohol are the abusers. So how can children safely navigate the muddied waters of adults telling them to not do Drugs, and to not drink Alcohol while seeing its regular use by them and most people they see?

Discussions on these issues is what follows, with the goal of giving children and young adults a much more clearer picture of what doing Drugs and Alcohol could lead to. It's impact on their choices, which often leads to negative outcomes which could effect the rest of their lives. The goal here is to prevent and limit early childhood Drug and Alcohol use.
